        CLASSIC HOLIDAY DESIGN UPDATES TOP 2018 TRENDS
W hile retailers are busy all snug in their stores bringing joy to holiday customers
and closing out 2017, Dallas Market
Center exhibitors have been hard at work getting ready for Christmas 2018 and beyond.
So what are some of the holiday trends you can expect to see for 2018? As always, there are so many to choose from each season. We spoke with product development experts to highlight some of the trends you’ll see across the DMC campus in a few weeks.
“Holiday trends are not about formality, they are about the experience,” said Ken Fetgatter, product designer for Melrose International.
There will be lots of di erent holiday themes to experience for this winter’s Market, as holiday launches look to be impressive. Sullivan’s Gift, for example, is introducing 14 new holiday themes for 2018 and Creative Co-Op is planning its biggest holiday launch ever.

Put an animal on it
                                There’s a saying that to sell a product, all that’s needed is to “put a bird on it.” For holiday 2018, animals are where it’s at and not just your typical reindeer either.
According to Denise Lee, vp of product development at Sullivan’s Gift, animals drive sales. “According to market research,
approximately 30% of people are more likely to buy an item with a cute animal on it,” she said.
This year, expect to see animals across the holiday spectrum— from woodland to arctic to everyday pets, even llamas, Lee added. We’re sure birds will continue to do just  ne too!
